His Eminence Metropolitan Emmanuel has been recently notified by the Secretary-General of the Holy Synod of the Ecumenical Patriarchate, the Very Rev. Archimandrite Bartholemew, that the Holy Synod has entrusted him with provisional responsibility for the Exarchate, in accordance with the request for this in the letter of 6 April following the Diocesan Assembly in Paris on 30 March 2013.

Until the election of a new Archbishop, during the celebration of divine services, in all the parishes of the Archdiocese, Metropolitan Emmanuel as bishop in charge of the Archdiocese should be commemorated in the following manner:

“His Eminence, Metropolitan Emmanuel, temporary administrator of the Archdiocese of parishes of the Russian Tradition in Western Europe”.
